Time-capsule notes
Seal any note until a future date. It stays masked until then, with a live countdown as the reveal approaches.
Deja Note lets you seal a thought until a future date. It stays quietly locked away, then reveals itself with a notification exactly when you meant it to. A letter to the person you'll be.
How it works
No accounts to wrangle, no setup ritual. Jot something down, choose when it should come back, and get on with your day.
Capture a thought, a plan, or a message with rich text, photos and tags, in the same fast editor you'd use for any note.
Pick a reveal date and the note becomes a sealed object: its contents are masked, waiting behind a gold countdown ring.
When the day comes, a notification arrives and the seal breaks open. Your past self, right on schedule.
The idea
Addressing your future self is a quiet shift in perspective. Today's noise falls away, because you're writing past it, to someone who already knows how it turned out. What's left is what actually matters: the hope worth keeping, the question worth answering, the moment worth saving.
That's why the seal exists. It isn't just a delivery date. It's a lens, and it changes the writing on the way in as much as the reading on the way out.
Everything else it does
Time capsules are the heart of it, but Deja Note is a capable everyday notebook too.

Turn on Diary mode for a gentle daily journaling prompt, scheduled as a notification so the habit finds you.
Notes are encrypted before they leave your device and stored encrypted in the cloud, then synced to all your devices.
Everything works without a connection. Write on the plane; your notes reconcile and sync the moment you're back online.
Format with headings, lists and emphasis, and embed photos right inside a note. They ride along, encrypted, everywhere your notes go.
Guard the app behind your fingerprint, face unlock or device PIN, with a quick-switch grace period so it isn't fussy.
Organise with tags, pin what matters, and filter by category, status or date to find any note in seconds.
Deleted notes rest in Trash for 30 days, restorable even offline, before they're purged for good. Nothing vanishes by accident.
Diary mode
Journaling is easier when you're not staring at a blank page. Switch on Diary mode and Deja Note delivers a scheduled prompt each day, a small nudge to reflect that meets you where you are. Answer it in a line or a page; it's yours, and it's private.
Prompts are organised into categories like Personal, Work, Mindfulness and Goals, or you can ask for a surprise across all of them.
"What is one small thing that went better than you expected this week, and why?"
Questions
Your notes are encrypted on your device before they're uploaded, and they're stored encrypted in the cloud. That includes embedded photos, which live inside the note itself. Sync and storage are protected in transit and at rest.
The reveal is driven by the date, not the network. Open the app and any note whose time has passed is already unsealed, no connection required. The reveal notification is scheduled ahead of time, so as long as your device receives it, it fires on the day; if you were fully offline, you'll simply see the note waiting for you, revealed, next time you look.
Deja Note is available for Android on Google Play. Your encrypted notes sync across every device you sign in on.
The seal is meant as a gentle commitment device. The whole point is to let a note wait. In the app a sealed note keeps its contents masked until its date arrives, so the reveal stays a genuine surprise. Think of it less as a lock you fight and more as a promise to your future self.
Deja Note is free to download and start using. You can create an account to sync across devices, or use it on its own if you'd rather keep things local. Pricing details are shown on the store listing.
Download Deja Note, seal your first thought, and let time do the rest.
